In many traditions, the spiritual journey includes occasional or regular retreats. These involve taking a period of time out of everyday life— anywhere from half a day to several years— to allow a period of concentrated focus on spiritual practice or learning, following which the benefits can be brought back into everyday life.
I currently offer in-person half-day and full-day group retreats in Wellington and other parts of Aotearoa New Zealand. These retreats provide a valuable opportunity to step outside of the usual routine, with all its demands and distractions, and to leave behind the to-do list and the usual cycle of thoughts. This will allow you to give more dedicated time and a fuller attention to your spiritual journey than is usually possible. To look at how you go about life or at any particular concerns from a fresh perspective. And how to integrate the benefits of the retreat into your everyday life.
Retreats include:- a short talk, for some context to what we will be doing together; guided practices; and opportunities to share with the group. Some time for private reflection is also included, and the option of a one-on-one 20 minute session with me.
Retreats are based on the contemplative approach to the spiritual journey. They are open to everyone and no knowledge of this approach is needed to take part.
The next retreat will be held in Wellington, 9.30 - 1 pm on Saturday 26th September 2026. If you’d like to know more or to register, just flick me an email.
