In many traditions, the spiritual journey includes setting time aside for occasional or regular retreats. These allow for a period— ranging from a few hours to much longer— of focussed practice or learning, whose benefits can then be brought back into everyday life.
I currently offer in-person half-day and full-day group retreats in Wellington and in other parts of Aotearoa New Zealand. These events provide a valuable opportunity to set aside the demands and distractions of everyday life and to step outside of the usual routine and the usual cycle of thoughts. In the retreat setting you can look at how you go about life or at any particular concerns from a fresh perspective. You can dedicate more time and attention to your spiritual path than is usually possible. And you can explore how to integrate the retreat’s benefits into your everyday life.
The retreats I offer include short talks for context and inspiration, activities such as guided practices, opportunities for exploring the relationship between spiritual practice and your everyday life, and times for optional group sharing. They also include periods for private reflection, and the option of a one-on-one 20 minute session with me.
These events are grounded in the contemplative approach common to many traditions. They are open to everyone, whether you belong to a particular faith or spiritual tradition or not.
The next retreat will be held in Wellington, 9.30 - 1 pm on Saturday 16th May 2026. If you would like to know more or to reserve a place, just send me a message. Please note that registrations close on Friday 8th May.
